The restcamp is located in the south west section of the Kruger National Park. Not far from Numbi Gate.

A road inside Pretoriuskop Rest Camp...Pretoriuskop is one of the larger camps available within the Kruger National Park. It is situated in a mountainous region of the national park. There is a swimming pool, facilities for day visitors, camping and caravan sites, guest cottages, huts, a nice restaurant, a petrol station, a shop and a laundry.

In October 1998 the restaurant in Pretoriuskop burned down, and it has not been rebuild yet. This is mainly due to lack of funds, and it is not expected that the floodings of February 2000 will help in the rebuilding process. The flooding has caused an estimated ZAR 30,000,000.- in damages so most likely the restaurant will not be rebuilt in the near future. Restaurant services have been moved to an alternate location.

The burned restaurant at Pretoriuskop Rest Camp...Pretoriuskop is the friendly camp and a favourite for many on account of its beautiful trees, prolific bird-life and mountain settings. It is also one of the best maintained, having won the park's best camp trophy on many occasions. Located in a mountainous region of the park, the camp is set in a beautiful garden graced with marula, Natal mahogany and sycamore trees. There is no better way to stretch your legs after a game drive than to walk among these on the interesting little in-camp trail. However, if you choose, you may also cool off in hte attractive rock swimming pool. Amid the indigenous vegetation you will notice some alien species, such as bougainvillaea. These have been retained for historical reasons as they were planted by the first game warden before the indigenous only rule was established.

Other restcamps: Berg en Dal, Crocodile Bridge, Letaba, Lower Sabie, Mopani, Olifants, Orpen, Punda Maria, Satara, Shingwedzi and Skukuza restcamps.

Other bushveld camps: Bateleur, Biyamiti, Shumuwini, Sirheni and Talamati.
